Rochus Schreiber

Two days after news broke of B.T.L.’s purported multi-million dollar debt; the resignation of C.E.O. Rochus Schreiber was announced.  Via an employee bulletin, staffers were told that Schreiber “has decided to pursue other personal interests and reunite with his family in the United Kingdom at the end of September.”  He is departing after being at the helm of the company for two and a half years and today we asked him how the transition process is being realized.

Rochus Schreiber, C.E.O., B.T.L.

“The preparation started on the day when I arrived because it was clear that I was the first foreign C.E.O. of Belize and this is Belize Telemedia Limited, the national So I started the job with a clear understanding that the integral part of my duties is to build up a succession team and to develop the organization. The succession will be very natural and smooth and I do not expect any change. What we have started, this team is more than capable to continue.”

Hipolito Novelo

“Has you successor been named or identified?”

Rochus Schreiber

“We have Ivan Tesecum; our Chief Financial Officer has been named as the acting Chief Executive Officer.”

Hipolito Novelo

“Do you know if he will be permanently posted?”

Rochus Schreiber

“The Board has decided that he will be initially appointed as acting, however, Ivan is extremely talented, very capable professional. I worked with him very closely. It has been a joy working with him throughout these two and a half years and we are now working on the transition where he will then take and continue. The decision about the C.E.O. is a Board decision to make, not mines.”
