Are Human Remains that of Missing Teen, Doren Grinage?

While it is believed that the lower half of a young male body, discovered on Monday morning in the river behind Sand Hill Village, is believed to be that of sixteen-year-old Doren Grinage, police maintain that until the results of a DNA test, will they be able to positively identify the body. Denise Grinage and her family believe that the remains are that of their loved one. A post-mortem conducted has certified the cause of death as undetermined.

“We alert the police and said that they found the body. But when the forensic come, they realise that it wasn’t the entire body; it’s just part. So we are waiting on the coastguard to come and do some search, dive or something to see if they could come up with the rest of the body.”

“I don’t know. I wish I know. But at this point in time, I am just grateful and thank God that we can come to some kind of closure that we don’t have to continue look the entire country for my son. I am just grateful that we find him and we could make a closure. I am just hoping and pray that we can hold the rest of his remains before night with the help of coastguard because we don’t have professional divers.”

“The lower part of a body was found which the family believes to be that of his. As a police we have to responsible. While the family would be allowed to say that it is him, we have to go by evidence and we must have proof to ascertain that it is him. And so yes, while from a defacto standpoint, we can say it is him; we have to be sure and we are hoping that we will be able to send samples for DNA testing and that will confirm that it is indeed the remains of Mister Grinage.”
