Police Say DNA Test Will Confirm Identity of Human Remains

Alejandro Cowo

According to Police, Doren was last seen alive on July ninth around five-thirty p.m. around mile nineteen on the Old Northern Highway. As we said, the lower half of a body, believed to be that of a young male, was retrieved this morning from the river behind Sand Hill. The family believes that it is that of Doren. Here’s C.I.B. Commander, Superintendent Alejandro Cowo on the investigation so far.

Supt. Alejandro Cowo, O.C., C.I.B., Eastern Division

“At this moment, the body was retrieved and a post-mortem on the body is being conducted at this moment. We cannot tell you or confirm if that body is that of that missing person up to now. We believe that a DNA has to be done in order to confirm if indeed that is the missing person Doren Grinage. For the family it is, but not for us. We just cannot go by the clothing that the person had when they found the body. Remember we just found a portion of a body; therefore, we will collect swabs from the different family [members] and then we will do a DNA test to determine whether or not it is the person that is missing.”

“Were there any visible injuries on the body?”

Supt. Alejandro Cowo

“The body was already in a state of decomposition; and I cannot tell you the results yet because the post mortem is still being conducted at this moment.”
