Eldon Flowers freed of Murder Charge

Eldon Flowers

After two years on remand for a 2017 murder, tonight, twenty-year-old Eldon Flowers is a free man.  His murder trial by judge without jury ended today before Justice Colin Williams of the Supreme Court who concluded that Flowers had no case to answer for the murder of nineteen-year-old Randolph Johnson, who was shot multiple times while fishing with friends off the George Price Highway. Justice Williams upheld a no case submission made by Flowers’ attorney, Herbert Panton, since the crown did not produce evidence to prove his client was the shooter.  One of the witnesses, Adrian Avaloy, became hostile on the stand claiming he could not remember anything though the crown was able to prove that Avaloy gave his 2017 statement willingly.  It was a similar bridge to cross for second witness, Jamie Pollard.  Pollard took the stand and immediately after he was asked what January third homicide, he said he didn’t remember anything because when he heard the shots, he jumped into the water. The case fell apart and Flowers was freed.
