Investigation Ongoing into Jermaine Balthazar’s Murder

Jermaine Balthazar

Police say that no one has been charged in the murder of forty-four-year-old Jermaine Balthazar Flores.  The Dangriga resident was found dead in a bushy area on the Jaguar Paw Road around seven o’clock last Thursday morning. Balthazar’s killing presumably happened on Wednesday night when he was shot multiple times in the face; his hands and feet were tied and his body was wrapped in an inflated air mattress and dumped along the road.  Today, police say they don’t believe he was killed where his body was found. ACP Joseph Myvett tells us more.

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch

“So far it is still an ongoing investigation. The police have followed several leads. A home in Belmopan was searched on Saturday where a number of items were found, which, at this time, we are not able to say whether or not those were connected to the crime scene.”

“Is it believed that he was killed some place and then dumped there?”

“That seems to be the theory or the lead that the investigators are following because the scene where it was found is not consistent to say that the incident did occur there.”
