Robbers Target Corozal Supermarket

Robbers were also operating up north. A supermarket was robbed on Sunday night just after eight o’clock in Corozal Town.  Police say that they responded to reports of a robbery at Tang’s Superstore in the Santa Rita Area of Corozal Town where three robbers targeted the establishment.  ACP Joseph Myvett says that no monies were recovered, but they found a couple items that were stolen during the robbery. The suspects are from the immediate Corozal area. ACP Myvett tells us more about when police responded to the scene.

“Where they were reported to upon arrival that shortly before eight p.m, two male persons, one dark complexion and one clear complexion, entered the store. The dark complexion person was wearing a hooded jacket; while the shorter, clear complexion person was wearing a peak cap entered the store where the dark complexion man held up a customer and forced him back to the area of the counter while the other male person jumped over the counter and stole an undisclosed amount of money. They made good their escape. Police was conducting investigation in that area where several items were recovered believed to be clothing items used in this robbery. Corozal police have three person in their custody pending this investigation.”
