Sinaloa Drug Operator Allegedly Had Belizean Passport

Juan Ulises Galván Carmona

A Sinaloa Drug operator was gunned on Thursday in Chetumal, Mexico. It’s making news in Belize because Juan Ulises Galvan Carmona, who goes by the drug alias “El Buda,” possessed several passports including one from Belize. Mexican media are reporting that “El Buda” not only possessed a Belizean passport, but also one from Mexico and Guatemala.  It is raising alarm because it is reported that he has drug ties in Belize where drug planes have been landing and numerous persons are believed to have been killed due to the narco-trafficking trade. In fact, Mexican news media are reporting that “El Buda” is a very well-known drug trafficker with a well-known past. He not only has connections with the Sinaloa Cartel, but in 2012, he was arrested along with associates of Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman.  Originally from Oaxaca (wa-ha-ka), “El Buda” directed a criminal group which then received cocaine shipments, coming from Central and South America, by sea.  It was learned that he relocated to Chetumal four months ago and opened a business for money laundering. “El Buda,” was shot two times in the head in the mini super, El Caracol, in front of the Fiesta Hotel Inn.
