Murder Suspect Faces Bail Revocation

Troy Hyde

Thirty-two-year-old Troy Hyde, a suspect in the murder of Kareem “Robbery” Lopez, is presently out on bail.  Tonight, he is in the news after being busted, along with twenty-five-year-old Raheem Arnold, for possession of cannabis.  Both men appeared before Magistrate Emmerson Banner earlier today to answer to two drug-related offenses.  A raid of their home on Curl Thompson Street yielded eighty-four grams of cannabis for which they have been charged jointly for possession of a controlled drug, as well as drug trafficking.  The charges brought against Hyde violate the terms of his release since the conditions include that he must not be arrested for any offenses while out on bail.

Raheem Arnold

In court, Arnold did not hesitate and pleaded guilty to possession simplicita for drug trafficking and as a result was fined one thousand dollars for the eighty-four grams and another fine of three hundred dollars.  Since Arnold accepted responsibility for the offences, the charges were withdrawn from Hyde.  But he is not off the hook as yet, while Arnold was free to go, Hyde was detained and is expected to be taken before the Supreme Court on Friday since it is believed that he violated the conditions of his bail by being arrested.
