P.U.P. on Weekend Bloodbath

The bloodbath over the weekend has triggered a statement from Leader of the Opposition. John Briceño notes that ten persons lost their lives this past week in a crime spree.  In a statement, he holds the Barrow administration responsible for another six months in which the law-abiding citizenry continues to be paralyzed by crime. The P.U.P. states that it is fed up of press conferences and constant claims of statistics showing a dip in crime when families of victims are feeling the impact, including those of the five murdered fishermen, Principal Alarice Andrewin and the many businesspersons who are held at gunpoint, beaten and their establishments robbed. So far, the P.U.P. says, seventy persons have been killed this year and that number does not include those persons still missing. The party also reminds that the social partners and the Opposition are ready to work together with the government to formulate a real crime fighting strategy.
