Meshek Banner Remanded for Attempted Murder of Common-law Wife

Meshek Banner

Twenty-nine-year-old Meshek Banner, a resident of Western Paradise, appeared unrepresented in the courtroom of Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford today where he was arraigned for the attempted murder of his common-law wife.  The electrician was read a single charge for attempting to take the life of thirty-six-year-old Orlette Sanchez on Sunday, when he inflicted a stab wound to the center of her chest.  Around six o’clock on Father’s Day, police visited Guadalupe Street in Belize City where they observed suffering from a stab wound.  An investigation later revealed that the injury was the result of a domestic dispute.  Sanchez had indicated to police that she was in the process of filing for a separation from her common-law husband at the time of the incident.  Meshek Banner, seen here waving his middle finger, has since been denied bail and remanded to the Belize Central Prison until September ninth.
