Detainee Escapes from Custody by Casually Walking Out of Police Station

Charles Foreman Jr.

Charles Foreman Junior, who was in lawful custody for common assault against his girlfriend, has been slapped with another charge after casually walking out of the Queen Street Police Station without being formally released.  According to the Pickstock Street resident, when none of the officers on duty paid him any attention at the precinct, he simply walked out and went home, took his five-year-old son to his aunt’s house and returned to the station where he surrendered himself to the officers.  Foreman was additionally charged for the offense of escape, despite informing that he didn‘t want to leave the infant unsupervised.  In court, Foreman pleaded guilty to common assault, explaining to Magistrate Emmerson Banner that his girlfriend was his girlfriend, Monica Good, was outside of the courtroom waiting to have the charge against him withdrawn.  Several checks were made after which it was determined that she was a no-show.  Magistrate Banner accepted the plea and imposed a fine of three hundred dollars or in default six months imprisonment.  Foreman was able to meet bail by noon today and is due back in court on July fifth.
