Haitian Security Guard Murdered in the City

A Haitian national who recently migrated to Belize for work was murdered on Saturday morning. Jacques Wilder was on duty, working as a security guard at Foam Factory on the George Price Highway when he was attacked by thieves who gained access to the business. The burglars managed to access the office through a window, escaped with less than two hundred dollars in cash, but not before fatally wounding Wilder, who was bound in the process. The first murder for the weekend took place on Saturday morning at mile two on the George Price Highway. A security guard from Triple ‘A’ Security Firm was killed while on duty at the Foam Factory. “Just after five in the morning, police visited the Foam Factory located on the George Price Highway where on the compound, they saw a Triple A Security Guard with apparent injuries to the head. He was being treated by BERT personnel and he was thereafter pronounced dead on the spot. What we understand is that the security guard was working at the foam factory and that he had reported there on Friday at six p.m.”

Security footage that is now with the police captured the entire ordeal. Two thieves pounced on the unsuspecting security guard as he made checks to the side of the building just after four on Saturday morning. His killers then pried open the burglar bar and scaled the side of the building before ransacking the office looking for cash.

“The building was burglarized and a small amount of cash was stolen from inside of the building. At this moment, a post-mortem will be conducted that will determine the cause of his death and the injuries that he sustained.  All we were able to see is bruises on his face.”
