Faber’s Road Resident is Sentenced to Life for 2012 Murder

Henry Jacobs

Henry Jacobs has been sentenced to life in prison with a possibility of parole after serving twenty years. That was the decision made by Justice Marilyn Williams. Back in 2018, Jacobs was found guilty of the 2012 murder of Brian Welch, aka “Yankee” or “Oregon.” Welch was shot multiple times to the mouth, chest and abdomen on the night of April twenty-ninth; Jacobs was twenty-two at the time. On July twentieth, 2018, almost ten months ago, in a trial by judge without jury, Justice Williams found the accused gunman guilty of murder. The life sentence is effective the day he was convicted. The crown was then represented by Rene Montero of the D.P.P.’s office, and his main witness was a police officer who saw Jacobs among a group of men arguing with the deceased. In his testimony, the officer told the court that Jacobs left the area and later return on a motorcycle and killed Welch. Jacobs, who was represented by attorney Hubert Elrington, denied the murder allegations. Prior to his conviction, Jacobs spent seven years on remand.
