2-Month-Old Baby Dies from Battered Child Syndrome in Camalote

Thevane Banner

Police are investigating the death of a two-month-old baby. On Saturday, a man in Camalote village took his son Thevane Banner to the Western Regional Hospital. There he told doctors that he was feeding the baby when he started to experience difficulties breathing.  The baby was pronounced dead and health officials called in the police. Police say that the baby was observed with some bruises to the face and a post-mortem was ordered. Well, just a short while ago, police issued those results. The post-mortem results determined that the baby Thevane died from a fracture to the head and back, multiple skull fracture and head trauma that is consistent to Battered Child Syndrome. Earlier today, ASP Alejandro Cowo briefed the media about the incident.

“At about eleven-fifty a.m., police visited the Western Regional Hospital where they observed an eight-week-old baby apparently dead with some bruises to the face. What police gathered so far is that the father is alleging that he was feeding the minor when the minor began to experience breathing problems. As a result, he rushed the minor to the hospital and that is where the minor was pronounced dead on arrival. The father and mother were detained and they are being questioned by police. The police are waiting for the post-mortem to be done to determine what the possible cause of death is in regards to this minor.”

At this time the matter is still under investigation. We’ll keep following the story.
