Orel Leslie Escapes Shooting

Orel Leslie

Last year, Orel Leslie was freed of a murder charge, but on Sunday morning it appears he was a marked man. Leslie was driving on Bocotora Street around five in the morning when two unidentified men fired shots at him. Leslie escaped the gunfire unharmed. Police recovered six expended shells from the street. Today, police was asked if Leslie was targeted for the 2012 murder of B.D.F soldier James Noralez. Leslie and two other men were accused of the killing, but were acquitted in 2018. Here’s what police have to say.

“Is it believed that the attempted shooting of Orel Leslie is related to the case for which he was tried and acquitted in 2018 or was it something totally unrelated?”

“Yes some shots were fired at him while he was inside his vehicle but he has not yet made an official report.”

“We understand that one person from Banak Street has been detained?”

ASP Alejandro Cowo

“We have a person in custody at this moment.”

“Can you tell us if that person is cooperating with police; have police been able to get any information?”

ASP Alejandro Cowo

“Well, police is interviewing him but up to now the actual victim has not made a report.”

“So, what is police pursuing if the victim of the attempted shooting has not made a report? Is that case going to go anywhere?”

ASP Alejandro Cowo

“No. We are just trying to establish the motive or the reason why if indeed the person we detained did the actual shooting. It is just a procedure that we have to follow.”
