How Did 2 Detainees Escape from Independence Police Custody?

Gregory Flowers

An internal investigation by the Professional Standards Branch is ongoing in southern Belize after two persons in police custody were able to escape from the cellblock inside the police station in Independence. Gregory Flowers and Clinton Coleman somehow damaged the lock to a detention cell and escaped without detection by any on-duty officer. It was not until checks were made around six-thirty on Tuesday, that officers realized that the prisoners had escaped. ACP Joseph Myvett says that the men were detained in relation to a theft and a burglary and are not considered dangerous.
