Separate Shootings in Stann Creek District Leave Two Men Injured

There are separate shooting incidents to report on from the Stann Creek District tonight.  Around five p.m. on Tuesday evening, a Belizean fisherman of Hope Creek Village was shot in the right leg by an individual whom he owed money.  According to twenty-one-year-old Harry Stanley Montero, he handed over an amount of cash to Aaron Flowers.  Seemingly unsatisfied with what he received, Flowers reportedly shot Montero before pistol whipping him with the firearm to the back of the head.  Flowers then allegedly instructed another individual whom he was with to go through Montero’s pockets.  The shooting victim was subsequently relieved of a cell phone, three hundred and fifty dollars in cash and a gold chain valued at seven hundred dollars.  In another incident that happened two nights prior, Jesse Cal, a waiter of Steadfast community, reported to police that whilst at Hopkins Village socializing with eighteen-year-old Alex Guerra, they got into a dispute with another individual.  When they were leaving the village in a Toyota Hilux, a vehicle attempted to stop them.  Several shots were fired and Cal was injured in the right shoulder.  Police are investigating.
