DNA Results Pending for Skeletal Remains Found Behind Los Lagos

Last week, the skeletal remains sans skull of an elder person were discovered in the dried up savannah behind the Los Lagos Community off the Philip Goldson Highway; a denture was also found along with the bones. Relatives as well as police believe that the remains are that of eighty-three-year-old Hubert Richards, who went missing over a year and a half ago, in November of 2017. While it cannot be confirmed that the bones are that of Richards, the police are waiting for the DNA results to see if there is a positive match.

“Based on the interview and the consultation with the family, they are alleging that there is a similarity with what their relative had; however, it cannot been ascertained fully. We are still waiting for the DNA test to be done to so that we can confirm indeed if that is the person that was reported missing about a year and a half ago.”

“Is the skeleton…as you know this area isn’t like right off the side of the road; you would have to walk through certain private properties to get to where it is assuming that’s where the person wilfully went. Since there is no indication of homicide at this point. So then, is there any correlation between the skull and the skeleton?”

“As we mentioned, the examination of the skull that revealed according to the post-mortem that the doctor conducted, it is a young male person. This other skeletal remain is of an aged adult person, male likewise, so I don’t believe that there is any connection. Maybe it is a coincidence that both were almost in the same location.”

The skull that ASP Alejandro Cowo is referring to was discovered back on March fifteenth about thirty feet away from this recent find. While the investigation has not been able to determine the cause of death of the two men, the police was asked whether the savannah was used as a dumping site to conceal crimes. ASP Cowo says that further searches in the area turned up nothing.
