An outing in Santa Elena Town on Friday night turned violent. Two friends were out drinking, when around ten p.m., their celebration became violent and within minutes one of them was chopped multiples times in the head with a machete. Daniel Castellanos was viciously injured and rushed to the San Ignacio Hospital where he remains in a stable condition. Meanwhile, his attacker, Marco Antonio Perez has since been charged and arraigned for the crime. ACP Joseph Myvett says that it is yet another alcohol-related incident.

“They observed a male person later identified as Daniel Castellanos, fifty-two years with several chop wounds to the head. He was taken to the San Ignacio Hospital where he is in a stable condition.  Initial police investigation reveals that Castellanos was socializing with one Marco Antonio Perez and during the process, they got into an altercation and those injuries were inflicted by Mister Perez. As a result, Perez has since been arrested and charged for the crimes of dangerous harm and use of deadly means of harm.”

“So he has already been charged and will be arraigned today?”

ACP Joseph Myvett

“Yes and it is alcohol related.”
