Is Councilor Elijio Upset with Belize City Council?

So what is happening at City Hall?  P.U.P. Belize City Councillor Ryan Elijio caused quite a stir on Thursday night after a post on his personal Facebook profile alluded to him resigning from the council. Posted on Elijio’s Facebook was “I work too hard for my name and I will never need it up for no one…With immediate effect, I will no long(er) be part of this council.” News Five contacted Elijio a few minutes after the post was up, asking him to confirm his identity and the legitimacy of the post. Elijio said quote, “my Facebook might be hacked L-O-L.” Elijio later said that the post was not made by him, but one of his friends. He says that he left his account open and one of the persons who he was playing poker with, gained access and updated his status as a prank. The post has since been deleted. The Council’s PR officer Tamara Minto told the media, “The Mayor and Council has not received any letter of resignation from Councilor Elijio. Therefore, cannot comment.” The Facebook post caused a stir because it would not be the first time that a Belize City councilor has taken to social media to vent frustration against Mayor Bernard Wagner and the council. Councilor Micah Goodin is considered a social media rebel, vocalizing his frustration on his profile.
