Was San Antonio Fire a Case of Arson?
Meanwhile, police are investigating another house fire; this time in San Antonio Village, Toledo District. A wooden and thatch structure, the home of Wallace Coy, was destroyed by fire. As we reported on Tuesday, Coy and his common-law wife left their home earlier that day to Punta Gorda, leaving his grandfather at home. Upon returning, they discovered that the kitchen and house were gutted. While no one was injured in the fire, police and fire-fighters are investigating the cause of the blaze.
ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch
“The owner of the house reported to police that he had left for Punta Gorda earlier that day and upon his return shortly after four p.m., he was informed by someone that the home was on fire. So far we know that the contents and his entire home were destroyed by fire. At this point in time, the police do not know whether or not arson is the cause.”
