Driver Served with N.I.P. for Fatal RTA on Loma Luz Boulevard

At this afternoon’s press brief, police also issued official comment on the fatal road traffic accident in the west that claimed the life of nineteen-year-old motorist, Luis Cruz. Last Thursday evening, Cruz collided into a vehicle as he rode his motorcycle along Loma Luz Boulevard in Santa Elena Town.  His Lifan motorcycle was extensively damaged after he crashed into a Suzuki SUV driven by fifty-nine-year-old Eric Flowers. Police say today that Flowers has since been served with a notice of intended prosecution.

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch

“San Ignacio police were called to an area on the Loma Luz Boulevard where they observed a motorcycle extensively damaged and a Suzuki XL7. The driver of the vehicle, one Eric Flowers, reported that he was travelling in a southerly direction when he observed a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction and the driver of the motorbike seemingly lost control and ran into the front portion of his vehicle. The police then visited the San Ignacio community hospital where they observed one Luis Cruz, nineteen years with head and body injuries and whilst being attended to, he succumbed to his injuries.”

“Any charges for the driver?”

ACP Joseph Myvett

“No, he was brought in for questioning and then he was served a notice of intended prosecution.”
