OW Stabbing Victim Remains Critical; Still No Identity

Joseph Myvett

Police say they still haven’t identified a man who was stabbed and left for dead in Orange Walk. Cops were called out to Guyana Street sometime around eight-thirty on Tuesday night where they found John Doe. Police say they do know that the man had an altercation with three other men earlier that night and so they are looking for those persons to assist them with the investigation. Today, ACP Joseph Myvett told the media they are confident that they will be able to get a name for the man who is still critical in the hospital.

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch

“Police officers in Orange Walk were called to Guyana Street where they observed a large cut wound to the forehead. As a result, he was transported to the northern regional hospital and then the Karl Huesner Memorial Hospital where he remains in a critical condition. Up to this point his identity has not yet been determined. Our investigation has shown that he was involved in an altercation with two or three other males somewhere in the vicinity of the Orange Walk Market. Hence, the police are looking for three persons in the investigation.”

“What exactly is the difficulty in identifying him?”

ACP Joseph Myvett

“He had no form of identification on him.”

“So what is the department doing to identify this victim?”

ACP Joseph Myvett

“We are doing several things. We are following several leads and we believe that before the end of today or by the end of today he will be identified.”
