Matthew Moore is Freed of Attempted Murder but Remains Locked Up

Matthew Moore

Well-known criminal figure Matthew Moore remains in lock down tonight though he was relieved of charges for the second time. In 2018, he was freed from a charge of murder and today two counts of attempted murder were withdrawn from him in the Supreme Court. It occurred before Justice Colin Williams where Prosecutor, Kileru Awich informed the court that one of his main witnesses, Keith Middleton, was dead and his other witness could not be located. But Moore remains in custody for a robbery charge for which he was recently granted bail of fifteen thousand dollars which he has been unable to post. Moore was charged back in October 2010, for two counts of attempted murder upon Middleton and Oscar Vides, both of Belize City. Both men were injured during a shooting incident at the corner of Central American Boulevard and Faber’s Road. It is not certain how police charged Moore since the victims said they did not recognize the shooter. While one said he saw the shooter who stood ten feet away from him, the other said he never saw the gunman. Moore saw his 2018 murder charge end also in nolle prosequi before Justice Colin Williams due to insufficient evidence to prove the charge against him for the murder of Andrew Moses. That murder occurred in the Caesar Ridge area.  Middleton was gunned down in October 2017 as he sat on the back step of his house on Mud Street.
