Man Charged for Murder is Freed

Orlando Salazar

A preliminary inquiry ended today in the murder case against Orlando Salazar, who was charged jointly with Joel Choco for the killing of Windell Neal. The court withdrew the charge against Salazar and he was free to go. The evidence of the prosecution was challenged back in October of 2018 when the P.I. started before Chief Magistrate Sharon Frazer. In her absence today, Senior Magistrate Patricia Arana delivered the good news to Salazar in the presence of his attorney, Jaraad Ysaguirre. The magistrate upheld the submission made by Ysaguirre that there was no evidence to substantiate the charge of murder against Salazar. Outside the court room Salazar was relieved that he was freed of the August 2017 murder in the Conch Shell Bay area, which took the life of Neal and injured Karron Santos. Salazar spent nineteen months on remand. The case against Choco is still before the court.
