Ryan Walker murdered 2 months after release from prison

Story PictureThere were two murders in Belize City over the three day weekend. The first involved the shooting of a man who was no stranger to the police. Twenty-seven year old Ryan Walker left his home at number thirty six Zericote Street and drove off with a friend after eleven p.m. on Thursday April thirtieth. A short while later he was shot several times to his right temple. Police found Walker’s body in the driver’s seat of his green Toyota Camry on Gyles Street in the St. Martin De Porres Area. His family knew he had a past, but say Ryan, who was released a little over two months ago from prison, wasn’t given a chance to turn his life around.

“Therefore he went with a little argument on a basketball court with other friends sitting up, end up with a shooting of a guy, Goff and was tried and convicted for five years. Within his five years he was like seventeen going for eighteen when that crime happened. So therefore is, he went to prison incarcerated at a young age, dropping out of standard four, neva really finish primary school, so on. He went to the jail, he try to go through correctional but he keeping back within time and end up he get more time after time and so on.”

“So he did nine years?”

“Nine years he really end up do pan parole.”

“How long have he been out of jail?”

Irvin Pitts
“Well, about two and half months now.”

“Well, I heard it was a hit on my brother and what I believe he knew his killer, that’s why they pursue him to the end of his death.”

“I understand before he got killed he was actually here hanging out with some friends. What happened from there?”

Francine Pitt
“Well, what I gather that he was drinking and driving around with them and some how they lured my brother to his death in the village.”

Jose Sanchez
“That’s Gyles Street.”

Francine Pitt
“Yes, that’s Gyles street and when the police arrive at the scene, they saw him in the vehicle with the ignition on, his head lying on the steering wheel but what they have told us that my brother was in the vehicle behind the driving—behind the steering wheel and the other person—three I guess, two was behind ah, I assume or they have assume and the gunman was beside him. What they have gather strong evidence that the person was beside him and the first give him the first shot. He duck down, ih went through the glass of the vehicle. They gave him a other shot and that’s when he knew that they were out to get him but he was helpless. Anyway, they give him five shots; three in the upper part and two in his lower part of his body.”

“There was blood in the passenger area except of the seat where someone was sitting. When the police came they supposedly put a shirt they found in the vehicle over you’re brother’s face. Did anyone recognize that shirt or knew where that shirt came from? ”

“The shirt was from the person who was beside him.”
