A Public Appeal to Identify Driver in Deadly Hit & Run Up North

Joseph Myvett

Sixty-one-year-old Carlos Galvan, a resident of Xaibe Village, Corozal District, lost his life in the wee early hours of Monday morning during a hit and run incident.  The accident happened not too far from San Joaquin Village where the farmer was fatally ran over by an unknown vehicle.  In the wake of the mishap, a public appeal for assistance in identifying the body was made by Corozal police.  While the family subsequently came forward to determine the remains of their loved one, investigators are yet to make any progress in ascertaining the identity of the driver, as well as the make of the vehicle that struck Galvan.

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch

“We are still trying to find several leads as well and so far have been unable to come up with the driver or the vehicle that was involved in the hit and run fatal traffic accident.  We are still seeking the public’s assistance of anyone who can assist us in regards to that investigation.”

“Has anyone come forward since this case hit the news?  Has anyone provided any information apart from just the identification?”

ACP Joseph Myvett

“Aside from the identification no, but we have been following different leads but so far none of them have proven to be of any significance.”
