Belize City Man Committed to Stand Trial for Rape of Minor
A resident from rural Belize District was arraigned and remanded for allegedly raping a male child on Monday. Today, a man accused in 2017 of raping a female child was committed to stand trial in the April session of the Supreme Court. He is forty-one-year-old Charles Brown of a Madam Liz Avenue, Belize City who appeared before Magistrate Emmerson Banner. On September eighteenth, 2017, the minor accused Brown of raping her inside a house he forced himself into. Sergeant Ean Galvez presented eight statements and a few documentary exhibits. Magistrate Banner heard from Brown that he had two persons as alibi witnesses. The child told police that she was at a house in the company of an aunt who has a disability when the accused entered and raped her. Brown is out on bail of and will return to court on April second.
