P.U.P. Leader Says “Sedi” Must Go

Wilfred Elrington

Many have called on the immediate removal of Wilfred Elrington as the Minister of Foreign Affairs. The People’s United Party has been a strong advocate for this.  In January, when the P.U.P. launched its People’s Declaration, the demand for the immediate removal of Elrington was renewed. Elrington, however; has described the demands as futile, saying that people within his own party and those close to the Prime Minister have done the same and all have failed. P.U.P. Leader John Briceño says that the party’s call for Elrington’s dismissal is fully supported by members of the P.U.P.

“This is something that the members of our party feel very strongly about. They believe that as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs he has not represented us. That in many instances he could have been more aggressive for instance when it comes to getting a Sarstoon protocol. The comments that he would say are totally off the wall. That obviously he is not thinking out clearly what he is doing or saying and because of these reasons, the members of our party believe that we should have a different Foreign Minister.”
