Santa Elena Resident Remains in Coma 1 Week after Brutal Beating

Joseph Myvett

The family of a Santa Elena resident needs help in identifying the perpetrator of a vicious attack on Nicholas Flores. Flores, a fifty-eight-year-old, was badly beaten on the night of January twenty-fifth at the bus stop near Boiton’s Barbecue in the western municipality. The severe beating left Flores in a coma, from which he has not recovered. The police today provided details of the near fatal beating.

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch

“Initial investigation and surveillance footage revealed that sometime around 11:40 p.m. on the twenty-fifth of January, Mister Flores arrived at the bus shed where he was sitting and he was approached by a male person who began beating him. As a result, he suffered facial injury. He was then transported to the K.H.M.H. where remains in a critical condition. Police is seeking one person in relation to this investigation, whilst our investigation continues.”

Reporter

“Sir has the surveillance footage been able to aid the police in identifying who this attacker is?”

ACP Joseph Myvett

“Not fully, but we are following other leads.”

Reporter

“Was this a robbery attempt or a random act of violence?”

ACP Joseph Myvett.

“It probably seems to be a random act of violence as the surveillance did not disclose any robbery.”
