Sanitation Worker to Stand Trial for Vicious Chopping of Michael Tesecum

Dennis Bowden

Fifty-four-year-old Dennis Bowden has been committed to stand trial at the Supreme Court for the attempted murder of Michael Tesecum, whom he reportedly chopped multiple times on December eighteenth, 2017.  Following the incident, Bowden, a sanitation worker with the Belize City Council, was charged with attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm and dangerous harm.  Before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford earlier today, a preliminary inquiry resulted in a paper committal and the matter will now be heard in the April 2019 session of the Supreme Court.  When asked if he had any alibi witness for the day in question, Bowden said no.  His previous bail was automatically revoked, but he was allowed to sign for bail once again in the sum of ten thousand dollars, plus one surety of the same amount which he was able to secure by midday.
