Minister Edmond Castro: “YES to the I.C.J.”
Last week, we saw the monumental signing of a declaration by five former Foreign Ministers, including Prime Minister Dean Barrow, to say “Yes to the I.C.J.” And as you have seen on this newscast over the past few months, several members of the House of Representatives have gone on record to say how they will vote in the April tenth referendum. Now, last October when we asked Castro how he would vote, the minister said he hadn’t made up his mind because he first wanted to know what Guatemala is offering. But has he changed his mind?
Edmond Castro, U.D.P. Minister
“I will vote yes for the I.C.J. I think it is high time that we, our generation, settle the Guatemalan dispute once and for all. I think the best place for us to settle it is to vote yes so that we can get this to I.C.J. and get this behind us.”
