Edgar Coronado Charged for Attempted Murder of David Diaz

Edgar Coronado

ACP Joseph Myvett also gave an update on the investigation into the Christmas Day shooting of twenty-eight-year-old Llamont Wade and twenty-one-year-old Pablo Reyes. The duo was targeted as they exited Reyes’ house on Muffles Street in an ongoing gang feud in that municipality. And while the pair was lucky to escape with their lives, police are yet to make an arrest for their attempted murders.  One person, however, has been detained for the shooting of twenty-two-year-old David Diaz which also occurred in that vicinity two days earlier. While investigators know who the suspects are, lack of cooperation with the police is stalling the case.

“It is still an ongoing investigation. There is no new leads; however in respect to the previous shooting in which David Diaz was shot in orange Walk, police have since detained one person pending charges; he was detain early this morning. We do still continue to follow the investigation; we don’t just sit and wait for new information to come forward. So we are following other information in relation to this to see how we can bring these matters to a close.”

Late this evening police formally arrested and charged thirty-two-year-old Edgar Coronado of Blackwater Creek Area, Orange Walk for Attempted Murder, Wounding and Use of Deadly Means of Harm.
