A Low-Flying Suspect Plane in Dangriga

Chester Williams

Even as police remain vigilant on the illegal landing of drug planes across the country, on Saturday night, there were several reports from residents that a suspicious plane was seen flying low in Dangriga. A report coming to News Five is that the plane made a wet-drop just outside of Dangriga, but that has not been confirmed. Today, however, Acting Commissioner of Police Chester Williams spoke about the reports of the low-flying aircraft, saying that officers were deployed but came up on nothing.

Chester Williams, Acting ComPol

“I know that I was called on Saturday night and was told that there was a low-flying aircraft in the Stann Creek District. We did deploy officers to the location and there is no evidence to suggest that the aircraft did land so while there may be sighting of one, we cannot say if it did make any landing in that municipality.”

“Is it a suspected drug plane?”

Chester Williams

“Well if it is, we cannot prove. Even if there was a low-flying aircraft, we cannot say what kind of aircraft that it is. So whatever it is…I don’t even want to venture to say suspected drug plane because there is nothing to link.”
