$13,000 in Shopping Spree at Courts

The Christmas season for the family of Marjorie Carter just got a lot better. This morning, the Belize City resident cheerfully picked up ten thousand dollars worth of prizes from the Courts store where she has been shopping for some time. Carter says she will assist her family with some of the goodies won at a raffle. Another resident also got three thousand dollars worth of prizes. T-Shirt Factory hooked up with Courts and the lucky ticket was for Sayurie Caretela. Both were all smiles this morning when we found them at Courts. News Five’s Duane Moody reports.

Two Belize City residents were today the lucky winners of a shopping spree at Courts main branch in the Old Capital. A total of thirteen thousand dollars worth of household items and electronics were handpicked by the winners before it would be delivered to their respective homes. A ten thousand-dollar prize went to Marjorie Carter, who participated in the one-month Mabe promotion that was held during the month of November.

“In Courts, we sell all types of brands and Mabe is a very recognized brand and very good. And this campaign was called Win the Ultimate Shopping Spree and it was courtesy of Mabe and Courts. Our lucky winner came into the store and purchased her item on November twenty-seventh, which was only three days before the campaign finished. She actually purchased a Mabe twin-tub washer and it was only valued at five-forty-nine [dollars]. The items are here readily available for her to select and for her to just come in, choose what she wants. Her limit is ten thousand dollars and what better way to shop with us, together.”

Carter was very emotional this morning as she was officially presented as the winner. She has been a customer with Courts for years now, with her most recent purchase bringing her all the luck for the holiday. Carter says she was going through a rough patch having recently lost her mother, but since Sunday, has been having a winning streak. Even so, Carter says that she has chosen to assist her children and sibling just in time for the Christmas.
