Wesley Lower School Targeted by Thieves

Wesley Primary School on Albert Street was broken into on Tuesday morning by two thieves who arrived at the school well armed to carry out the crime. Surveillance footage shows the duo jumping the fence before creeping towards the principal’s office. Once there, they proceeded to steal over a hundred dollars plus a laptop. It all took place in a matter of thirty minutes. There is a report that the police were notified of the crime in progress, but when the police arrived, the thieves had completed their mission and left. Police have since obtained a photo of the getaway vehicle and have been able to identify its owner. Today, Pamela Baird noted that the thieves knew the details of the school.

“They went into the principal’s office and they went away with the laptop that was donated to us by the Ministry of Education along with over a hundred dollars that was left in here—a portion of it for the church—and they also made a mess of the storeroom. They just threw down the projector and stuff like that.”

“So it was money that they were looking for?”

Pamela Baird

“Well I am not really sure what they were looking for because they went through everything, they ransacked the office and we had a lot of work when we came here Tuesday morning.”

“From what I understand, they came prepared. They even wrenched off the lock and cut through the board door as well.”

Pamela Baird

“Yup. They came prepared. They wore masks so we are not able to identify who they were. They were adults from what we have seen. We would really like to appeal to them to return the laptop because it has on pertinent documents for the school, so we really need it. It’s not our property; it was given to us by the Ministry of Education so it has a serial number and it can be traced.”

Just a week ago a class was broken into where money, a water bottle and a speaker were stolen.
