Los Zetas and New Generation Jalisco Cartel Have Links to Belize?

The rate at which these drug planes are being landed in dirt roads is tainting Belize in the international press as a safe haven for drugs. Months ago, a Facebook post alleging that police knew about landings triggered more effective anti-drug operations, including the detention of a senior cop. Since then, there have been several other drops and in the most recent, on Friday, a drug plane aborted landing somewhere in the vicinity of San Estevan and Progresso Villages. The plane then made an emergency landing at the Chetumal International Airport.  After landing, two men were seen exiting the aircraft and escaping through some bushes and over a barbed wire fence of the airport. According to Mexican news outlet, the men abandoned one-thousand-three-hundred and eighty-three packages of cocaine hydrochloride. This amount has a net weight of about one point five tonnes. The drug was in cocaine hydrochloride form which means that it is of high quality and can be used to produce an even greater amount of the drug. Mexican authorities have no idea who the cocaine was for. One online publication carried a screaming headline that Belize has fallen to Los Zetas and the New Generation Jalisco Cartel. Another, Novedades de Quintana Roo, today carried extensive reporting on the landing of drug planes in Belize.

  1. Marie says:

I already said all these areas used as plane landings should be manned 24/7. No problem to ask US For help as TRUMP would be more than willing to support Belize in this.
