A Course of Action to Recover Hilltop

On Monday, P.S.U. President Doreth Cayetano-Obermayer told the media during a press conference that they have always been under the impression, aside from supporting documents, that the land in question was the property of the union.  First Vice President Dean Flowers also said that the executives of the labor organization negotiated with the Belmopan City Council in good faith.  In the wake of the sale, he outlined a plan of action in an effort to recover the sold property.

“We were always of the opinion that this land is ours.  We’re not guessing, we have documentation to show that this land is for P.S.U.”

“How does the union now label this distasteful act from city council?”

Doreth Cayetano-Obermayer

“It’s nothing more than illegal and to the highest of corruption by the City Administrator.”

“Throughout this negotiation, the PSU has always been negotiating in good faith with the city council and we honestly thought that likewise, the mayor, his council and more importantly the City Administrator was being truthful and honest and would have continued those good faith discussions.  It’s very disappointing that we have reached this state. Across the country, membership will be convening at the different headquarters.  Chairpersons will be contacting members across the country in terms of the venues, the time for all the meetings is five p.m.  Having convened those meetings the council of management will be convening a session tomorrow to receive feedback from all chairpersons and thereafter we will then inform members, the prime minister of this nation and the general public what are the sequence of events or the course of actions that will be taken to ensure that we recover our property.”

The People’s United Party is calling for an investigation into the matter.
