Armed Burglars Strike CDS Gas Again

Armed, masked burglars hit C.D.S. Gas twice in one month and police blame a ring of thieves targeting the Ladyville and surrounding villages. The gas station on Burrell Boom road was targeted by burglars for a second time after three on Sunday morning. The burglars broke in through the back and ransacked the place. To their surprise, there was no cash inside and were only able to get away with small items. But the burglars held up the security guard and another person from the neighborhood.  They abducted the men and drove them about a mile away in the guard’s vehicle, shot them and took off in their waiting getaway vehicle. The security guard has since been treated and released, while the other man remains hospitalized in a serious condition.  Today A.S.P. Alejandro Cowo shared more about the incident.

“Police arrived and observed a blue in color four-door car on the road side. At about ten feet away from the car, a male person came out of the bushes and police observed him with bruises to the face and two apparent gun-shot wounds to both feet. Also at about a hundred feet from the next vehicle, police managed to find a next person by the name of Dennis Bartley who was suffering from three apparent gunshot wounds; one to the stomach, right leg and left hand. Initially information that we received is that Andres Gomez is a security guard at the CDS Gas station on the Burrell Boom Road and at the time was accompanied by Bartley. Both of them were on the CDS compound and they were approached by three male persons who were armed. They managed to break into the building and they stole an undisclosed amount of money. But we understand from the manager that it was only some coins and small items that were taken. Thereafter, the two male persons were placed inside Gomez’s vehicle and driven towards the Boom Bridge and thereafter they were shot while inside the back seat. They were both transported to the KHMH and Mr. Gomez was treated and released. And Bartley is now in a stable condition.”

“Is it your suspicion that is the same persons who are targeting or targeted this business?”

ASP Alejandro Cowo

“Well, we believe that there is a group of male persons operating in that Ladyville area and we believe that they are responsible for the many aggravated burglaries and robberies that are happening on the Philip Goldson Highway, beginning from Zeta Gas going up to the Sand Hill Area.”
