Honduran National to be Deported
After spending one year and three months in Belize, Honduran national Jose Samuel Serrano Sanchez was ordered to be deported from Belize. But before he is deported, Sanchez must serve a five-month sentence if he cannot come up with the seven hundred dollar fine that was imposed on him. According to the Immigration Department, Sanchez entered the country on July twenty-third, 2018 and was given only a month to stay. His permit expired on August twenty-second and Sanchez did not get an extension. In court this morning, Sanchez was unrepresented when he appeared before magistrate Michelle Trapp. As we said, Sanchez is behind bars since he was unable to pay the fine today.
