Scrapped for Parts; Felina James’ Vehicle Found

Investigators have made some progress in the murder of thirty-seven-year-old Felina James.  Though no one has been charged, vehicle parts of a Kia Sorento owned by James were reportedly found this morning in Steadfast Village, Stann Creek District. We are told that the vehicle was found at a mechanic shop and one man is being questioned by investigators.  But a firearm owned by James is still missing and the motive for her murder has not been established.  The Belize City mother of two was found stabbed to death with a cut wound to her throat on the evening of October eighteenth. James was last seen leaving Sarteneja Village in her Kia Sorento in the company of a man. She was reportedly returning to Belize City when her car suffered a flat. After she was missing for days, her documents were found in Belmopan and soon after, her body was found off the Coastal Road. On Monday, ASP Alejandro Cowo updated the media.

“She owns a firearm, yes.”

Reporter

“Where did they take that from? Any idea or did she have it with her?”

ASP Alejandro Cowo

“We cannot tell you if the firearm was along with her but up to now we cannot give an account of the firearm.”

Reporter

“Anyone reported any sighting of this vehicle?”

ASP Alejandro Cowo

“As we mentioned, she was seen in Sarteneja Village either Thursday or Friday. I know the investigators were there on Saturday morning speaking to various persons where statements were recorded where several have mentioned they saw her there when their vehicle broke down whilst they were coming to Belize City sometime in the night but that was the last time she was seen.”

James’ father, Efrain Granados, told News Five that the day James left Belize City to Sarteneja, she had received three thousand dollars from her husband in the U.S. James reportedly was making plans to relocate with her two children, one which is for her boyfriend.
