Woman Loses Right Eye During Physical Attack

Kimberly Audinett

A feud among neighbors has resulted in a young woman losing the use of an eye after being struck repeatedly to the head and body during a physical altercation last Friday.  Felicia Audinett was reportedly mobbed by a group of persons near her home on Riverside Street, following an exchange of words.  Despite an attempt to break up the fight, Audinett was severely beaten and pummeled by her attackers.  By the time family members were able to come to her rescue, Audinett had been seriously injured to the right eye.  Police later rounded up several persons believed to have been involved in the melee, however, Audinett’s sister told News Five this morning that not only are charges pending against the attackers, but that her sister is in need of public assistance defraying her medical expenses.

“My sister’s eye was beaten open from inside.  By the time she reached the gate that’s when my brother saw her and he called to us because we were going around the lane.  He called to us and said, “Don’t follow them because Felicia needs help.  She needs to go to the hospital right now.”  That’s when a police pickup was coming and we asked them to take her.  By the time we reached her you could see actually the pupil from inside her eyes hanging out here.  My sister they got the picture on their phone.  She lost her right eye actually.  A part of her body from this left side apparently was dead the other day, I don’t know if it started to pick up senses and I require a CT scan, ultrasound and x-rays from the doctors because when I got to the hospital she was vomiting and I wanted to know why she was vomiting and still vomiting blood because when she went in there she was vomiting a lot of blood.  They said that they were going to do an x-ray and thing and when the doctor called me she said that she had a tumor as well that is bleeding from the impact of the hitting.  So right now my mom said yesterday that they moved her into another room because it seems like apparently she’s getting worse.”

“So you’re requiring public assistance with the medical expenses?”

Kimberly Audinett

“Yes sir, because the police have not picked up not one of these children.  They have picked up the father and have let him go and from the night we told them that the kids got into a boat and had gone.”
