CP Gas Station Hit by Robbers, Again

A pair of robbers made off with an undisclosed amount of money on Wednesday night after they held up the owner of CP Gas Station in Belize City. Two men, one armed with a firearm entered CP Gas Station at around seven o’clock and while one of them pretended to be buying, the other went straight to the owner who was behind the counter, pointed the firearm at him and demanded money. A.S.P. Alejandro Cowo says the assailants made off on bicycles.

“The owner of the establishment reported that he was inside the established conducting his daily business when two male persons entered the building. One of them had a hoodie and he proceeded inside the shop, wanting to buy something from inside while the other one followed him. When the other one arrived near the counter, he pulled out a firearm from his pocket and pointed it at the owner’s head and demanded him to hand over the cash. The other male person went over the counter and took a bag containing an undisclosed amount of cash that was under the counter.  Thereafter the two male persons made good their escape on bicycles on Captain Eiley Street.”

Police are reviewing security footage. This is the second time that the establishment, which does not have security, has been targeted by thieves in recent months.
