“Sir, give us some details as to how police got to that point?”

Bobby Garcia

Insp. Wilfredo Ferrufino

“I can’t go into details as regards to the investigation. I do know that the investigation yielded enough evidence that police could have gone ahead and charged for murder and the conspiracy charges.”

While the police refrained from saying what could have motivated the murder of Garcia, his parents told News Five that the accused minors had confessed to the crime, claiming that it was a ritual killing.

“We read the confession that they made and they said that they had already picked Bobby. They had picked Bobby to be the human sacrifice and they lured him. To be his friends, they made him believe that he was their friend. They had planned it. And they confessed everything, how they plan it and what they were going to do. It was a ritual because they said that they belong to the EMO culture and they actually [said] on their confession that the two of them had a sleepover to plan everything that they would do and one of them was in charge to invite Bobby to lie to him, to lure him, to take him to that place, inviting him that they were going to have a little gathering and a game and they wanted him to go and play with them.”

Today, Bobby Garcia would have celebrated his nineteenth birthday. It is a really overwhelming time for the family.

“He didn’t get into trouble and all his friends that knew him would say that he was a very good person. Like everybody else, he was a bit artistic; he liked tattoos and even though we opposed it, he made some tattoos. He got into recording. He was very energetic; he liked jogging, cleaning. He was very full of life and they cut his life short over something that doesn’t even make sense. That doesn’t even make sense. And it has really devastated my wife, myself, my oldest son and his little sister. To make it worse, the Sunday when they discovered him was his little sister’s fifteenth birthday and Thursday would have been his nineteenth birthday and we had already planned to celebrate it over the long weekend that was coming up on the thirteenth.”

Both minors, who are high school students, are to return to court on December tenth, 2018. Duane Moody for News Five.
