Humans Remains Found in Belmopan

Human remains were found on Friday morning at BWS’ sewage treatment compound in Belmopan. Police were alerted of the discovery at around nine o’clock that morning.  When they arrived on the scene, they came across a jaw bone and two shoulder bones confirmed to be that of a male person who is believed to have died between two to three months ago. Investigators are trying to determine the identity of the person and cause of death. Head of the National Crimes Investigation branch, ACP Joseph Myvett told the press today that all missing person reports in the area are being reviewed.

“Upon arrival, they were shown several bones. I believe the bigger part of that would have been the jaw bone of a human, as well as two shoulder bones. The forensic people did inspect these bones and they have confirmed that they belong to a human, male who seemingly was dead between two to three months. Further searches are still being conducted in the area. It is my understanding that the main area where this was found, all the different manholes are connected to this specific area where the sewage is connected.”

Experts did not observe any signs of injuries on the pieces of bones found.
