Body of U.S. Army Soldier Adrienne Barillas Returned to Belize
The body of twenty-two-year-old Adrienne Barillas, a Second Infantry Division soldier found dead at Camp Humphreys in South Korea, was returned to Belize this morning and handed over to her grieving family. At around eleven a.m., a casket bearing the remains of the U.S. Army soldier arrived at the Philip Goldson International Airport. Barillas, decorated with the Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon, was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead shortly thereafter by emergency personnel. The incident took place in Seoul, South Korea where she was stationed. Last Monday, a farewell ceremony attended by over a hundred soldiers was held in Barillas’ honor at Warrior Chapel, Camp Humphreys. A funeral service for Barillas will be held at Saint Joseph Church here in Belize City on Tuesday afternoon.
The funeral will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday 9 October 2018.
