Female Minor Claims She was Abducted and Taken to Homeland Memorial Park

A report was made to the Police over the weekend of the abduction of a minor. On Saturday sometime after three p.m., a fifteen-year-old girl reported that she was walking on Holy Emmanuel Street heading towards La Croix Boulevard. Within minutes, a white heavily tinted SUV stopped about four feet from her before a cyclist rode up and pushed her into the back seat of the vehicle. The driver, described as a man of dark complexion, then sped off to an area near the Homeland Memorial Park in the Eight Miles Community. Threatening her with a machete, the man ordered her to remove her clothing, but she managed to get away. At its weekly press briefing, the police took the opportunity to alert parents to be vigilant with their children.

“She began screaming and she was threatened by the only person who was inside the car, who was the driver, with a machete.  She was driven up to Homeland Memorial where the person demanded for her to take off her clothes, but while he went to open the door, the female managed to open the door and ran and ask for assistance. Fortunately she returned safe.”

“Is she able to describe the kidnapper?”

ASP Alejandro Cowo

“She gave a description of the driver and of the vehicle. It’s a white four-door vehicle, heavily tinted.”

Duane Moody

“Any suspects at this time?”

ASP Alejandro Cowo

“No. It is something for each parent to have in mind, to be careful as to when they send their children alone. Or if you are sending someone always to be on the lookout for them; not to send them at a far distance where you cannot have a look at them. Always stand on the street side and see where your son or daughter is going to.”
