Dangriga man starts up cultural magazine

Story Picture
Over the years, there have been several valid attempts at starting a magazine, but for one reason or another, only newspapers have been able to survive in the Belizean marketplace. Undaunted by that precedence, one local young man is trying his hand at promoting aspects of Belizean life in what he’s calling, Beli-zine.

Victor Enriquez, Owner, Beli-zine

“The idea behind Beli-zine is to actually entertain Belize in a different kind of manner. Most of our entertainment is actually music, sports, I wanted to do through a magazine something much different. It covers mostly entertainment, interviews with artists, you might get exclusive interviews with like Chico Ramos, his brand new release entitled “School First”. Also, you have stories on other artists and other interests that like cover facts about Belize, quotes of the month, health tips. Besides that we have another thing called the “person of the month”, a focus on someone doing something positive in the community.”

Copies of Beli-zine can be purchased from bookstores countrywide for six dollars. Victor Enriquez is a Belizean living in Dangriga.
