Man Charged for Saint Matthew’s Home Invasion

Joseph Myvett

On Monday we reported a home invasion in Saint Matthew’s Village. Bibiana Kus and her family were accosted by a pair of armed men, who stormed her property sometime after nine p.m. on Saturday and stole an assortment of jewelry and her vehicle. The vehicle was recovered, but the jewelry remains missing. Today, police say that at least one of the thieves was known to Kus because he once lived at the house. Twenty-four-year-old Valerio Aragon has since been charged for three offenses including a breach of protection order.

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch

“In relation to the aggravated burglary at Bibiana Cruz’s residence in Saint Matthews Village which had occurred on Friday, twenty-second June, police have since arrested and charged Valerio Aragon, twenty-four years tour guide for the crime of aggravated burglary; one count of aggravated assault and one breach of protection order.”

“Breach of protection order; does that mean that Aragon is related in some way to the family?”

ACP Joseph Myvett

“Yes, he is known to the victims.”

Duane Moody

“Could you say the relation sir?”

ACP Joseph Myvett

“At some point he was living there; he is known to the victims.”

“Given the relation, was robbery the motive?”

ACP Joseph Myvett

“At this point in time we cannot say, but we know for certain that a robbery was done during the aggravated burglary.”
