The Real Tarzan in Belize for 5-day Tour

Michael Holsten, known on social media across the world as the Real Tarzan, is in Belize for a five-day tour of the country. The twenty-four-year-old is an exotic animal specialist, zoologist, biologist and animal science behavior. In his first visit to Belize, organized by Dah Belize World Class, Holsten will be visiting the Baboon Sanctuary in Bermudian Landing before going to the iguana hatchery and whale shark diving—all first time experiences for the real Tarzan. Christopher Armstrong of Dah Belize World Class says that the idea is to boost tourism by sharing Holsten’s experience with Belize’s exotic animals with animal lovers across the world.

“I have thousands of hours with monkeys and tigers and lions and different zoos and people that have degrees or have sanctuaries already, I learn and observe a bunch of stuff from them. My first animal I ever got, I was four years old and I got a boa constrictors from Central America and he was mean. I use to watch Steve Erwin on TV and said that I wanted a snake and I got one and he was evil. He kept biting me and biting me and over time we became best friends. By the time I was ten, I had fifteen snakes in my closet; my mom thought I had two. Now I have monkeys and lizards and all types of stuff mien; it is beautiful.”

“We brought him here on behalf of us and Shantell from the Elition. So pretty much tonight we are going to go Sit and Sip, after this we are going to the Baboon Sanctuary. We are staying at the Radisson tonight; tomorrow we go over to Caye Caulker and go to Shark Ray Alley and pretty much we hope to encounter as many animals as possible. After the Shark Ray Alley, we fly voer to Placencia and we are going to do whale shark diving and also going to the Monkey River tour.”

“There’s no fear; fear isn’t real. It is a premeditated thing of something that is going to happen before it even happens and never even happened before. So people are afraid of something that hasn’t even happened yet, so there is no fear. Danger is real, but fear isn’t real so I don’t believe in it and it doesn’t live in my body.”
